WOW!
This world is truly a global village!
He has a very interesting show nowadays in KFM89.. It is about showing people the interesting places they can go to in Khartoum..
It's a real life directory.
I thanked Sapha and urged her to advise us of good night-out places .I want Khartoum to be an exciting place to us Sudanese and to the people who work here (foreigners of all nationalities)..
Here is a little secret that I wish to share with you.
I get a lot of inspiration to begin a new program from the internet.
I have always been fascinated with the interactivity element of the internet.
My first self commissioned website was a directory called Sudan Direct
I urged companies to list their activities on the internet for FREE.
I got a lot of responses and a lot of queries about the FREE bit.
I said I need the exposure.. and making anybody pay at the early stage of the internet was going to slow down its exposure and mine.
I categorized the activities and went about advertising in the local paper, a lot of companies registered.. I also did a lot of telesales and door to door marketing.
By the end of the first year, I grabbed the attention of similar professional websites..
I had more than 500 companies listed, I had a lot of where to go and what to do plus a lot of good information..
In fact Sudan Direct was the inspiration for BRUNCH.
No, Facebook is not the inspiration of this program, I use it as a tool to assist writing and strengthen my networking activity.
Sudan Direct faced the similar fate and dilemma of the Free-to-paid websites, people did not want to pay for subscriptions claiming that we are rich and don’t need the money.
Reality check, dude.. how can we be rich whilst receiving no payments whatsoever for a whole year?
Yes, we folded. It was sad, and my heart still skips a beat when I recall Sudan Direct.
But gave it a decent funeral and burial.
I visit Sudan Direct in its lever-arch file tomb at my office to mourn every now and then.
For those who are curious about the inspiration for other programs which I had presented or currently present..
Good Boss Bad Boss & Boss Live – were inspired from many sources on the topic.. Sa3aa Business (1 hour of business) from MSN & others.. Dardasha from 43things.com
